I'm Gaining!

Fergie has gained 6 pounds since I got her. She is still eating 5-6 cups of food per day and doing absolutely lovely. I found out one of her favorite toys is a chew bone and throwing her food dish around the room and up in the air when it's empty. Quite a funny site.

Fergie is now Spayed

Tuesday morning Fergie underwent her spay. Doctor said good thing we did it now, her uterus was very friable and had cysts all over it and the ovaries. She is healing fine.

A Very Sweet Girl

It has been an absolute pleasure to have Fergie stay with me since Friday. She has shown nothing but love, grace and good nature. So far I have found that she loves to sit in a chair or on the couch with me, she gives kisses and her tail is a non stop wag from just looking at her. She never barks, has not shown any sign of aggression, even with the other 10 bullies in this house. She falls in love with people as soon as they pet her and she asks for pets so nicely. At work with me, she will greet new people by just looking up at them with those eyes, oh my, those eyes, and melts their heart. Not one person has passed on bending down to give her a pat. She is definitely a Queen. We will have her spayed in the next few days and continue with her weight gain rehabilitation. She is not shy when it comes to food! She's is eating upwards 6-8 cups per day. No signs of diarrhea so her body must need it. This girl has a piece of my heart and always will. I look forward to seeing her become fully rehabilitated.

Welcome Fergie

Fergie was literally traded in for newer models. She was dumped at the Humane Society in the "After Hours Pen" with a note on her.

Her owner stated he could no longer breed her, so he was surrendering her. Fergie has had multiple litters, and will be spayed soon. Her nails were also VERY long!

Although we are happy Fergie made it to a rescue friendly shelter instead of being killed or euthanized at the hands of the breeder, we are sad to know that she was tossed out like the trash because she was not able to make the owner money any longer. They were kind enough to leave her with a bed and give her a shot at another life.

Fergie is a sweet girl, who after getting the medical attention and rehab she needs will yearn to be the love of someone's life for the first time. We feel this girl, like all rescues from this type of history, deserves to be the apple of her future forever-home's eye. It is well deserved!

Please check back for updates on Fergie.
